Individuals pictured include Herbert Fleishhacker and his wife May Greenbaum Fleishhacker; their children Herbert Fleishhacker, Jr., Alan Fleishhacker and Marjorie Fleishhacker Mitau; Marjorie's husband Martin Mitau and their daughters Patricia and Marjorie; and various other antecedents, descendents, relatives, friends and associates.

Herbert Fleishhacker (1872-1957), son of Aaron Fleishhacker and Delia Stern, was a San Francisco banker and civic philanthropist and long-time President of the San Francisco Park and Recreation Commission. He founded Fleishhacker Pool and Fleishhacker Zoo in San Francisco. In 1905 Herbert married May Belle Greenbaum (1884-1966), and their children were Marjorie (1906-1983), Herbert (1907-1968), and Alan (1914-1968). Marjorie married Martin Mitau in 1927, and had daughters Patricia (1928-2013) and Marjorie.
